Sally’s Caramelized Kraut

Ingredients

bag Sauerkraut - drained
1
medium sweet onion – chopped
1
Granny Smith apple – peeled and chopped
1
stick butter
½
cup
brown sugar
2
Tablespoons
cider vinegar
2
whole cloves
Instructions
Melt butter in frying pan, add onions, sauerkraut, brown sugar, cider vinegar and cloves.
Cook covered over low heat for 20 minutes stirring often so that the onions and sauerkraut begin to caramelize.
Add apples and cooked until the kruat is a nice caramel, brown color.
